AlterFocus365 is my attempt at completing Project 365 (a challenge to take and post a photo every day for a year)and is a way for me to change the focus in my life. I want to always try to appreciate the little things, and I want every day to contain something photo worthy. I am also anticpiating a lot of changes in the next year, and I feel like this will be a great way to document them and look back when everything is over. Hopefully throughout this project I'll also become a better photographer, and you'll enjoy witnessing the process!

Day 72: August 11, 2012

Hello! Guess what was today. Did you guess Apocalypse Wars (check it out on FB!)? You were right!

More pictures on my main blog. It was absolutely fantastic. So much so that I could not do explaining it justice.

Basically went up there, helped set up a bit. Then worked with the other five people on makeup to get our shit together, we decided on an assembly line type set up and since I had the least experience, I was on blood. Turns out, blood was probably the most fun makeup position. I made such a ridiculous mess, it was so great. Also the makeup was way more intense than I could have imagined, which just made the whole thing that much cooler.

Then I got to go out to watch the second game, and while waiting for the busses the coordinator realized they needed another person to prep the Hunters on the rules, so I went on that bus and did that. Important feels.

Then game itself was super intense. Possibly not executed as well as it could have been, but for the first year experimental trial run- I was pretty freaking impressed. Hung out with some other volunteers and the photographers and just tried to not get stuck in the middle of any of it. (I did get a good elbow to the back at one point though).

After that, went back to Beckingham’s and had a beer with everyone while prizes were handed out, announcements were made, and zombie romance novels were read.

Then stopped over at Matt’s for a bit, and met up with Mark at home and we had a party.

But not really.

I don’t think either of us are really cool enough to party to be perfectly honest.
