AlterFocus365 is my attempt at completing Project 365 (a challenge to take and post a photo every day for a year)and is a way for me to change the focus in my life. I want to always try to appreciate the little things, and I want every day to contain something photo worthy. I am also anticpiating a lot of changes in the next year, and I feel like this will be a great way to document them and look back when everything is over. Hopefully throughout this project I'll also become a better photographer, and you'll enjoy witnessing the process!

Day 70: August 9, 2012

Seventy days- isn’t that crazy?

However I still have 295 to go, so maybe not that crazy.

All of these individual posts make me feel like my life is so arbitrary, but then I look back at the collaborative seventy and realize how much has actually happened since June. All of these things that I might have forgot about, and I sort of realize that our lives are made up of arbitrary things, but those medial and mundane moments that happen daily are what shape us in the end. The bigger things happen once, and while they often make an impact, I feel like the day to day occurrences are what we actually adapt to.

In the same time, I also realize how absolutely amazing my summer has been so far and I feel so lucky to be able to be back in Calgary to share it with everyone, as well as to have been able to make so many new relationships while I have been here.

Also, while I often complain about my job, I’m pretty happy that’s what I did. I have more muscle than ever before in my life (imagine how good looking I’d be if I was committed to healthy eating?!) and I get to work in one of the most beautiful places and have spent the summer outside, while that particular one does suck sometimes I think it’s way better than living in the office during our measly two and a half months of good Albertan weather.

Anyway, today I went to work and was on bunkers with Sara. Then I came home and made muffins. Then I went up North to go to the Global Fest offices to buy some tickets and finally get my t-shirt (picture soon!), but got stuck walking through endless amounts of those boring white corridors lined with doors. Literally, the building was  giant square and there was only one public staircase to the second floor and Global Fest was on the complete opposite side. Also while leaving I saw the pub I’m going to for AWars on Saturday. Hahahaha. And from the same spot could see Mark’s church. But I needed to o to none of those three things on the same day, so it’s not nearly as convenient as it sounds.

On my way home I stopped to get some groceries and also ended up buying a 1.5L thing of Arbor Mist. Because I need that much alcohol in my life.

Apparently I actually do.
