AlterFocus365 is my attempt at completing Project 365 (a challenge to take and post a photo every day for a year)and is a way for me to change the focus in my life. I want to always try to appreciate the little things, and I want every day to contain something photo worthy. I am also anticpiating a lot of changes in the next year, and I feel like this will be a great way to document them and look back when everything is over. Hopefully throughout this project I'll also become a better photographer, and you'll enjoy witnessing the process!

If you live in Calgary you should know where and what that is.
And what is the only reason to go to U of C?
To go to a concert!
Or, I guess, like school. That’s a valid reason to go to University.
But I was definitely there for A CONCERT.
A BRAND NEW concert.
Favorite band. So excited. I don’t have any picture of the actual concert (sadly) because I don’t bring my phone to them and Mark’s phone died. But it’s alright, I’m sure I could find some on the internet somewhere. Or just remember it and all of it’s wonderfulness.
Seriously, they were fantastic live. I don’t even care what happened the rest of the day (mowed greens, took forever, came home, napped, met up with Mark, he showed me around, we concerted).
Jessie is fucking adorable. He seemed so genuine. It was just a great show.
I did have a weird moment though; when the started to play my favorite ever song, this [crazy] girl in front of us screamed “OH MY GOD, THIS SONG MEANS SO MUCH TO ME” to her friends. I almost felt betrayed by Brand New, like, no, this song means so much to me. But then I realized that’s the beauty of music. It probably means so much to so many people, but for completely different reasons. Like, there’s no way that girl was in the exact same situation as me, or someone else her, and so on and so on. Yet we can all relate to it and take what we want or what we need from it.
I think that universality is what makes music such an amazing medium. You play a song to almost anyone, and whether you have some deep connection with it or just find it okay or even hate it, if the person is listening that song will stir up some emotion.
I just think back to when I went to the CPO and they were playing Spanish-inspired classical music, and while it isn’t something I frequently [ever] listen to, it really really got to me.
