AlterFocus365 is my attempt at completing Project 365 (a challenge to take and post a photo every day for a year)and is a way for me to change the focus in my life. I want to always try to appreciate the little things, and I want every day to contain something photo worthy. I am also anticpiating a lot of changes in the next year, and I feel like this will be a great way to document them and look back when everything is over. Hopefully throughout this project I'll also become a better photographer, and you'll enjoy witnessing the process!

Announcement

Hello all.

I have been continuing with taking photos for this project up until a few days ago.

I’ve tried a few times to catch up, but I just can’t make it through the end of October/beginning of November because of feels. Also I didn’t really do much for those months so I think it’s pointless in my posting about them. Also the amount of pictures on my phone is breaking it.

With that, I’m still probably going to use this blog. I’ll change the name and just use it as a blog, probably do a day-by-day of my trip when I get back (I leave tomorrow!) and just use it as a place to post things that I want to remember.

Day 146: October 25, 2012

Lab this morning was actually ridiculously fun in making phylogenic trees. Also packed for Calgary in the morning!

Day 145: October 24, 2012

Day 144: October 23, 2012

Today I decided to be productive and put the bed skirt on my bed and also put up some of film. Sorry for horrible pictures.

Also for the spam you are about to receive if you follow me.

Day 143: October 22, 2012
So that curling up an bed and trying to get better thing didn’t really work out so well.
So I tried again for basically all of Sunday.
And just remember to take this basically as I was going to bed.

Day 143: October 21, 2012

Mom bought me this lovely little guy as a get well present. Also as an “I love you” present and a “It was on sale present.”

So yeah. Did some POL reading and made myself an entire pot of tea because it made me happy.

But mostly curled up in bed and tried to get better.

Day 142: October 20, 2012

Mom and I did some work on closets and it was horrible and I didn’t like it.

So eventually I presuaded her to go look at some cars and then proceed to Pat’s house.

So we did that. And there were baby bunnies and they were adorable.

Then our plan had been to help Pat paint, but it was sort of too dark and he was pretty tired. So we hung out with him for a bit, then he took us to dinner at this Mexican place in Ladner, which was pretty fun and adorable. My cold had come back in full force, so being able to eat something spicey was super wonderful.

Then I grabbed my pretties from his house! And some shirts and stuff because I left most of my sweaters there and wanted them for Calgary.

Day 141: October 19, 2012

Was being sort of sick all morning, then eventually dragged my butt out of bed to go work on an assignment at school. Which was not nearly as horrible as I had been expecting.

Plus, it’s fall. Super pretty!

Then I went home and joined mom on a drive over to Metrotown where I took the train downtown to meet up with a friend.

He was going to be a bit late so I got a table and ordered a drink.

When he eventually did show up, apparently there was a massive line to get in.

After over an hour of sitting by myself I gave up and paid my waitress who gave me the most pitying look ever.

It was actually super embarrassing.

Then told my friend I was leaving when I passed him in line outside and to just have fun.

So he chased me down and we had this confrontation in the rain in the middle of the street in downtown Vancouver on a Friday night.

My life needs to stop being a movie.

Then I cried a little bit because it hurt my feelings and was so embarassing.

Then got to the busses and they were being dumb so I walked the half hour home.

Then I skyped with my lovely boyfriend who made me feel better.

Day 140: October 18, 2012

Going to Calgary in a week. Got to get back in shape! So I dug  out the weights.

(My lab wasn’t on so I didn’t go all morning).

Eventually headed up to school which I don’t remember so apparently it wasn’t overly interesting. Besides getting marks back for health science, which I did pretty okay in.

Day 139: October 17, 2012

I got my car back! yaya! Almost $1000 and a bunch of frustrations later, mind you.

After that I was almost late for class.

Did that.

Then went home where mom had prepared this stupid intense dinner.

So hung out and watched TV with her and stuff n things.

Day 138: October 16, 2012

Mom drove me to school again because yay.

Then I was going to study for an extra hour, but I have developed a sleeping problem apparently and was super tired.

So I, uh, had a nap at 9:30 in the morning. Yep. Then did some extra studying. Then exam.

Then class.

Then break.

During which I studied my ass for stats.

Also the sun was setting and there was a rainbow and it was beyond gorgeous for awhile.

Then midterm

Which sucked.

Then mom picked me up because I’m coooool like that.

Day 137: October 15, 2012
My nest bed.
I studied pretty much all day.
And at some point this weekend we got this picture hung up finally. Yayayayayayayayayay!
(being sick sucks)

Day 136: October 14, 2012
Mom taught me how to make bacon corn chowder soup!
Did I mention I was sick and have two midterms on Tuesday?
Yeah?
Okay. This project is just technically one photo a day and not some insane blogging project. So here!

Day 135: October 13, 2012
Basically a more relaxing day compared to yesterday. I had a cold. And two more midterms coming up. So day was devoted to the sleeping and stuff.
Tried out the fireplace.
Doesn’t our living look nice? (it’s completely different now because apparently that painting shouldn’t go there. Pfft).

Day 134: October 12, 2012

Yay friday yay! So we (I) called AMA to get them to unlock my car, which was sort of stressful. Like, the calling process. The unlocking process was stupid easy. Proceeded to find out the battery had died, and then my locks weren’t working and my car was overall just upset feeling. So we found a Honda dealership and set out. Sort of spur of the moment-y.

Got there after some frustration. Had them look at my car. So many of the things. Looking at the locks to see what exactly was wrong, trying to fix the hatch lock, the ignition system was recalled, my DRL light was on and that was some faulty wiring problem, might as well do my overdue oil change too, eh, mom also wanted them to diagnose the gas gauge, and then they decided to give me a fluid check for free- because hey, why not?

Hung out, had hot chocolate, talked to some people. Got a shuttle driver to take us back to a train station, then took the train home. Remember spur of the moment thing? Yeah. Well it was raining. We had no jackets. That was fun.

Then we went to Costco and upon arriving home the lovely man from the dealership (if you ever need a honda serviced in Vancouver go to Open Road Honda. Seriously) called and told me how much everything would be and what was wrong and also basically that my front breaks were at 0% and they wouldn’t let me take my car home without fixing it (in an implied way) and that my suspension needed serious work. And so did those things, got the DRL fixed, wanted the driver’s side lock fixed and ohmygod so many things.
